Our Philosophy

Centennial Park Early Learning Centre is a small family orientated centre in close proximity to the beautiful environment of Centennial Park. We aim to foster a child's natural curiosity and interest for discovery and social learning through regular excursion and interactions with our wider community. The environment and program draw from the very best early childhood teaching theories and practices from around the world with emphasis on the Early Years Learning Framework.

Children educators and families work in partnership and collaboration to develop and support each child’s interests as they progress on their learning journey.

We act as an extension of home and provide an environment where children feel loved, accepted and secure, as well as being a place where children are encouraged to achieve their best socially, emotionally and academically. We have a moral and social obligation to the children, their families and the greater community to provide the children with a core foundation that will support them through life, to become active members of the community.

Centennial Park Early Learning Centre fosters strong partnerships with families. Through our flexible orientation programme, we support the smooth transition from home to day-care. Families are encouraged to view Centennial Park Early Learning Centre as an extension of home, educators place immense value and strive hard to develop partnerships based on mutual understandings, mutual respect.

At Centennial Park Early Learning Centre, we understand the importance of family and home and work in partnership with parents to optimise the learning of each child and continual dialogue promoting shared learning and collaboration.

Through our collaborative program educators’ access both intentional and spontaneous pedagogy practices to provide children opportunity to engage in their both inside and outside learning and become successful and competent, capable learners. Children are encouraged to question, hypothesize and test their understanding, through the program they are supported to challenge themselves and developed confidence in their skills and abilities. Children are supported to engage in their world, so that they have an appreciation, understanding and connection with their environment. The Children are supported as they build a sense of belonging to their community, while fostering an individual sense of identity and respect and appreciation of others around them.

We view the child’s time spent at our day-care the beginning each child’s life long journey of learning and appreciation of the differences that make each one special and where they are embraced and acceptance, promoting the importance of each person. We believe that offering support to challenge and succeed through critical reflection and careful planning will allow each child’s interests to be responded to and scaffolds their learning. We represent an educational approach that engrosses the children in projects and learning experiences, which allow them to question, examine and enjoy the challenge of the experiences before them.

It is our belief that when our children, educators and families of Centennial Park Early Learning Centre intertwine, it creates the unmistakable essence that is as unique as each individual who inhabits our spaces.
