Vital to our curriculum are the visions for early childhood education outlined by the early years learning framework: Belonging, Being, Becoming.

BELONGING is important for children. It's about knowing who you belong with and where you are. Experiencing Belonging is integral to human existence.

BEING is about the joy of children being children. The importance of recognising the significance of the here and now in children's lives. The early childhood years are not solely preparation for the future but also the present.

BECOMING is about recognising how children's knowledge, understandings, skills and relationships change during childhood. Becoming reflects this process of significant change in the early years as young children learn and grow.

The framework communicates early learning expectations through the following five outcomes:

  • Children have a strong sense of identity
  • Children are connected with and contribute to their world
  • Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
  • Children are confident and involved learners
  • Children are effective communicators

The approach to teaching and learning is responsive to the strengths, interest and emerging development of the children and includes exploration in:

    • Literacy
    • Numeracy
    • Science and discovery
    • Geography and our world
    • Construction
    • Music and movement
    • The senses
    • Creative arts
    • Active play
    • Manipulatives
    • Socialisation
